Global Mood shows the emotional tone of world news while keeping the app simple: no location permission, no tracking prompt, no contacts, no camera, no microphone.
What We Process
- The app and website load live sentiment data, country geometry, headlines, and visual assets from moodglobe.com and public JavaScript/CDN resources used by the globe.
- The website keeps privacy-friendly analytics: hashed IP identifier, page path, referrer host, coarse country code, device type, browser name, bot flag, and timestamp. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the analytics database.
- If you submit the contact form, the service processes your name, email address, and message so the operator can reply. A hashed IP identifier is used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
App Access
The Mood Globe iOS app gives full access for 7 days after first launch. That free access date is stored on device. After the free period, continued access requires an App Store purchase.
Payments
One-time unlocks and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. The app receives entitlement status from Apple, but it does not receive full payment card details.
Third Parties
Global Mood uses data derived from the open GDELT project, external visualization libraries/CDNs for the live globe, and Apple for App Store purchases.
